Job Summary
The Front Line Associate will serve the visitors to the Museum in both the Gift Shop and the Box Office. As the primary ambassadors of the Museum, they will represent the Museum in a professional and helpful manner. The Operations team encourages enthusiastic applicants to apply and welcomes flexible hours and seasonal work.
Responsibilities/Tasks
• Wait on customers and ring up sales using a point of sale system.
• Assist customers on the floor and help them find items.
• Clean shelves and glass, straighten books and clothing.
• Restock and price merchandise to fill shelves.
• Answer phone in a professional manner.
• Answer customer questions and receive phone orders.
• Close register and process paperwork.
Required Skills/Abilities:
• A demonstrated commitment to preserve and protect the history, culture, and stories of the Cherokees.
• Experience in and commitment to working in a team-oriented environment.
• Outstanding customer service that is a warm, welcoming, and professional presence with the public.
• Self-driven initiative and performance of the highest quality, with keen attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize the urgency of competing requests and take charge to meet these deadlines.
• Possess basic computer literacy.
Education and Experience
Position is open to applicants aged 16 and up. A high school degree is required unless applicant is still an active student in good standing.
Compensation
This is a part-time position. The compensation begins at $12/hour.
