Come celebrate Native American Heritage Month at the Museum of the Cherokee Indian in November.
Free programs include:
Storytelling by Jerry Wolfe every Friday from 1-2 pm
Demonstrations by the Cherokee Friends every Wednesday afternoon
Book Signing by Chief Robert Youngdeer Saturday Nov. 7 from 1-3 in Museum Lobby
Workshops cost $20 for adults and $10 for children 6-13 years of age. Register by calling Museum Store at 828 497-3481 x 208. Workshops include:
Nov. 7 Pottery by Bernadine George from 1-4 pm
Nov. 7 Flint Knapping by Davy Arch from 1-4 pm
Nov. 14 Music, Storytelling, and Dance with the Cherokee Friends 1-3 pm
Nov. 21 Cherokee Heritage Trails Guided Tours: Qualla Boundary and Blue Ridge Parkway 1-5 pm
Nov. 28 Ancient Skills: Fire Making, Atlatl, Blowgun and Chunkey Game with Cherokee Friends 1-4 pm
Programs are sponsored by the Museum of the Cherokee Indian, the North Carolina Arts Council, the Cherokee Preservation Foundation, and the Blue Ridge National Heritage Area.
